Real Madrid attacker Gonzalo Higuain has attracted the interest of Serie A side Roma with his good performances for the Spanish giants in the past couple of seasons, La Stampa reports.
The Argentina international has scored over 50 La Liga goals since establishing himself at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the ambitious Italian side want to bring the 23-year-old to the Stadio Olimpico next season as part of their rebuilding project.
Higuain is reportedly one of their primary targets in the transfer market, although it is unlikely that Madrid will want to part with one of their key first-team players without substantial compensation.
Reports from Italy suggest that Roma could include Daniele De Rossi in the deal in order to lower Higuain's price, but it appears unlikely that the Italy international will leave his current club, as Goal.com has previously revealed.
Higuain started his professional career with River Plate and joined Madrid in January 2007 for a fee in the region of €13 million.
